New ‘Spider-Man’ Gets Awkward Title

1 min read

Spider-Man HomecomingSony Pictures has been showing off some of their upcoming and in the works projects at CinemaCon and they capped off their presentation last night with a look at Spider-Man: Homecoming, revealing its formal title and its strong connection to the main Marvel Universe. The film was part of a deal with Marvel Studios & Disney to bring things together after a less than desired performance with Amazing Spider-Man 2. With an integrated feeling and a clip shown with Tony Stark sitting with Aunt May telling Peter Parker that he’s been given a special grant, which the scene shifts to his entrance in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War, it’s definitely a multi-layered homecoming for ol’ webhead.

Set for a July 7th, 2017 release, the film is directed by Jon Watts. It will star Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei and Zendaya while including a special appearance by Robert Downey, Jr.
