The production for the One Piece Film: Gold did a little marketing and promotion for the film this week with a morning talk show piece that provided a look at it on Fuji TV. It’s not the best of captures and no official piece is out there yet, but for those that want a good look this is the best there is at the moment.
Scheduled for a July 23rd, 2016 theatrical release in Japan, the new visual has arrived for it and you realize that there’s been very little “gold” in the series itself, which feels weird considering they’re pirates and treasure hunters.
Hiroaki Miyamoto will be directing it based on the screenplay by Tsutomu Kuroiwa. Miyamoto previously directed a good chunk of the TV series while Kuroiwa worked on The Perfect Insider this season as well as the live action Black Butler film.
We also learned that Masayuki Sato is reprising their roles from One Piece Film: Z and One Piece Strong World with the project in the role of character designer and chief animation director. Other roles include Kazuo Ogura as the art director and Nobuhito Sue on background art.
