‘Shingu: Secret of the Stellar Wars’ Anime Gets Bilingual Crunchyroll Streaming Run

2 min read

Shingu VisualOne of my favorite series that was released in the previous decade has now found a new home in streaming with Crunchyroll as Shingue: Secret of the Stellar Wars is now available on the service. Licensed by Nozomi Entertainment and having seen several well-priced DVD releases over the years, the streaming side presents all twenty-six episodes in its original Japanese language with English subtitles as well as the English language dub that was produced previously. Not surprising is that due to licensing restrictions, the series is available only to US and Canadian viewers.

Check out my review of it here or check out Josh’s view for a different take.

The series comes from the mind of Tatsuo Sato, who created it, wrote it and directed it. He’s known more recently for his work on Bodacious Space Pirates as well as Martian Successor Nadesico. The series is animated by Madhouse.

Plot Concept: Hajime Murata’s world is about to be turned upside down. First, an alien ship appears over Tokyo. Then, a mysterious new student named Muryou transfers to his school, and everything begins to change. Classmates suddenly begin to display psychic powers. A giant, white guardian faces off with alien creatures in the skies. And men with threatening weapons lurk in the shadows. With all these strange events taking place, can Hajime unravel the truth behind the world he thought he knew?
