The next round of promotion is getting underway this holiday with Fox bringing out a new extended red band trailer for Deadpool. We got both read and green trailers back in August after the SDCC trailer arrived, but this one goes the distance in showing off a lot more of the humor, some really fun Colossus material, and a greater view of the story itself. Expect to see a more friendly green band trailer in the coming days as the film’s mainstream promotion gets underway.
The film is set for a February 12th, 2016 release directed by Tim Miller based on a screenplay by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. It’s set to star Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller and Gina Carano.
Plot concept: Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
