Wednesday has arrived once more and it’s time to delve into the really big New Comic Book Day that we have today with new series kicking off. Not exactly new, but we get Archie bringing out more of the new Jughead ongoing series with all its quirks. Dark Horse Comics has several trades from recent miniseries such as Archie Vs Predator and Mister X: Raze alongside ongoing series. Image Comics is kicking off Huck this week as their main new book, though we do get the return of Wayward this week as well. Valiant wants to get Wrath of the Eternal Warrior on deck while Zenescope has queued up Robyn Hood: 2015 Holiday Special as a delicious treat.
DC Comics is all about the ongoings this week outside of Batman: Europa and Red Thorn while Marvel Comics has a slew of new series getting underway amid a number of Secret Wars collections. Some of these new series include Black Knight and Ms. Marvel alongside the new Mighty Thor and Star-Lord.
On the Star Wars side, this week sees the arrival of the twelfth issue of Star Wars itself, the kick off of the Vader Down event in its own book and the already collected edition of Star Wars: Journey to the Force Awakens – Shattered Empire, which is smart to get into bookstores early.
On the manga from, DMP makes a big splash this week with about a dozen volumes of numerous series arriving, from Barbara to Captain Ken as well as Ludwig B and Unico. There’s a lot to like from them this week, though it’s surprising that their slow and steady two volumes per week approach is being tossed out this week.
