‘Fairy Tail Zero’ Manga Getting Anime Adaptation

2 min read

Fairy Tail Zero ImageAfter Kodansha Comics USA picked up the manga for Fairy Tail Zero, fans of that property have a bit more to look forward to as it’s getting adapted into anime form. Interestingly, it’s not going to be its own spin-off piece or anything but instead will be adapted into the ongoing Fairy Tail series. The arc will begin with the January 2016 run of episodes with more information to be determined later as to which date it will begin.

Since the anime often digs into original episodes to give the manga time to do what it needs to do, working to adapt some of the spin-off manga is certainly a welcome idea.

The book serves as a prequel tail that Mashima himself wrote and illustrated that ran from July 2014 to July 2015, culminating in a single volume release. Kodansha Comics USA intends to bring it out as a single volume release in summer 2016.

Plot concept: Many years ago, Mavis Vermilion was a servant on Sirius Island, mistreated by a guild master and his daughter, Zera. But Mavis stayed positive, because her mother once told her that fairies never visit people who cry about their problems. When the guild came under attack, Mavis pulled Zera from the wreckage into the forest. Seven years went by, and the powerful wizards Warrod Sequen, Precht, and Yuri Dreyer arrived on the island, seeking a powerful jade gemstone. This journey would change the course of magical history…
