What They Say:
One year ago, Robyn Locksley was brought to Myst, a realm of swords and sorcery, to save the city of Nottingham from a great evil. Lives were lost and hearts were broken, but the war is finally over. Joined by Marian Quin – a witch has, up until now, only known the ways of Myst – Robyn returns to New York, ready to begin a new chapter in her life … This is the story of Robyn Hood.

Content (please note that portions of a review may contain spoilers):
Marian has her powers and now they get to meet their one of their favourite rock idols, Katie Graves! How can life get any better than this? However, when they find out that she might be possessed, then things might be a bit more serious. At least they get back stage passes … that makes it all the more better, now if they didn’t have to work. But, when Robyn decides to interrogate the usual suspects in her more than subtle manner, she gets no where fast. There is nothing more to do than go to the concert and talk to the lady in question. It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it.

The backstage area seemed normal: sketchy entourage, clueless roadies, heavy-handed security, pushy therapist and snap happy fans; there was nothing wrong, but the pair decided to split up anyway to see if they could find out the source of Katie’s problems. Only obstacle with that plan was Marian got too nosy and some dedicated shrink decided to do some hands on examinations to our poor witch. So, when Robyn had to step in and subject her friend to an intervention, she had more than one subject who needed some tough love. The good doctor was more than he appeared to be with his boorish behaviour and his overly protective attitude, plus the prescription he gave his subjects was a bit too strong on the homicidal tendencies. Therefore, our flaxen haired crusader determined that the only cure was to beat some sense into the patients … and the questionable quack. She always loved the hands on approach better than that touchy feely nonsense; after all, if you can’t hurt the ones you love, how else can you share your emotional baggage?

In Summary:
This issue was a nice change from all of the pent up rage that has been heaped upon our hapless duo. To think that they would be able to get to play after all the frustration of freeing Marian’s magic and Robyn having to fight and being left in the dark about her partner’s condition. However, we should know better, that Pat Shand won’t make it that easy … not when he can subject them to a mixture of a party and chaos! But, what made this story more interesting was the dichotomy of the case and what was happening in Robyn’s life with her anger management issues; she could see the problems with Katie but was also denying the same issues within herself. Maybe it was that cathartic release when she interrogated the Skinwalkers which blinded her to the problem? Glad that she faced it by the end of the story, or will she? Robyn always conveniently seems to forget her own troubles by the next arc.

And it is strange that we get a new artist in Manuel Preitano just when this story seems to wander into the territory of Wonderland with all of this insanity; after all, he is better known for illustrating that Zenescope series. His art style fits in with this crazy issue and the over the top action plus Marian’s uber-fan reactions while Robyn’s stoic face tries to keep all of her excitement. Hopefully, he will be able to keep up this balancing act with the madness which seems to be coming.

All in all, this was a nice break from the upcoming storm. With all of the clues that were dropped in the previous arc and this issue, we know that Robyn, Marian and the gang will be in for a major change. Just hope that they are able to conquer it before it the Cabal comes to crush them.
