Upcoming ‘Gaogaigar’ Blu-ray Anime Box Set Gets New TV Spots

GaogaigarThough there’re no expectations of seeing this in North American anytime soon, or likely in our lifetimes, Japanese distributor Flying Dog has revealed a new fifteen-second and thirty-second set of promos for their upcoming Blu-ray box sets for Gaogaigar. The show is getting two box sets released, the first with thirty episodes on November 25th, 2015 for 36,000 yen, and the second with the remaining nineteen episodes on February 17th, 2016 for 24,000 yen.

The first set comes with a 36-page booklet, an 110-page visual album and a new commentary by the staff and cast with the episodes being covered determined by a vote on the official site. The second season brings in the clean opening and closing sequences, commercials and to commercials as well as the animated sequences from the games if they’re able to do it. This set also will have another book and visual album and commentary track to be determined.

Plot concept: In the year 2005, a race of alien monsters called Zonders emerge from underground and launch a series of attacks on the city of Tokyo. The only defense against these creatures is the secret agency known as the Gutsy Geoid Guard (or 3G) and their ultimate weapon, the awesome giant robot GaoGaiGar. GaoGaiGar’s pilot, Guy Shishio, is a former astronaut who was nearly killed two years before when the Zonders first crashed to earth. Guy’s life was spared when a mysterious robot lion called Galeon pulled him from the burning shuttle and brought him to Earth. Guy’s father, Leo, then used Galeon’s technology to rebuild his shattered son as a cyborg, in the hopes that he could stop the aliens when they appear. Now, with Galeon as its core, GaoGaiGar fights to protect Earth. He is aided by a team of transforming robots and by a young boy named Mamoru, who has the power to purify the Zonders’ cores, and seems to be connected to the
