We’ve not heard too much about the broadcast plans for Youkai Watch for a bit now, though we know it’s still coming. As we get into the fall season, more and more shows are surfacing and Youkai Watch now has its first official slot. The series is scheduled for an October 3rd, 2015 debut at 2pm on the Canadian Teletoon network, giving it a prime Saturday afternoon slot. The series will show up on Disney XD later with an October 5th, 2015 debut at 5pm with the first of twenty-six episodes to test the waters for it. Hasbro is bringing out the toys for it in spring 2016, so it’s expected that a second round of episodes will roll out around the same time next year.

The cast for the series includes Johnny Yong Bosch as Nate, J.W. Terry as Whisper, Alicyn Packard as Jibanyan, Melissa Hutchison as Katie, Pierre Holloway as the Teacher and Manjimutt with Brent Pendergrass as Eddie.

Check out the English language version of the opening theme song… which while not as mock-worthy as some in the past, we imagine it’ll get its grief as well.

Plot Concept: The story line of the game goes about the main protagonist named Keita who discovers at one hot summer day an old capsule toy vending machine in the forest. Keita receives a mysterious watch which he meets a ghost butler with the name Whisper. Whisper tells Keita that the watch allows him to see supernatural creatures that he could never see before in a everyday life. Keita alongside with Whisper and his companion Kabanya explorers his town to search for other ghosts to battle.
