New ‘Fist of the North Star: Strawberry Flavor’ Anime Promo Arrives

2 min read

Fist of the North Star - Strawberry Flavor VisualThe October 6th, 2015 debut of the Fist of the North Star: Strawberry Flavor series has a new TV spot out to promote it that reminds some fans why they’ll hate it and others why it just utterly delights them. The series went through a lot of casting announcements in August but wrapped all of that up recently and is gearing up for the debut itself. The promo also highlights the music for it.

The series was announced back in June as it adapts the Fist of the North Star: Strawberry Flavor spinoff manga. Originally beginning back in 2013 with Yuishi Kawata and Imoto Yukito handling the series, the fourth volume arrived earlier this summer. The first three volumes have more than a million copies in print so it’s no surprise that there’d be some adaptation of it. Particularly since it seems like the DD Fist of the North Star gag manga’s anime adaptation back in 2011 and 2013 did well enough.

The cast includes Banjou Ginga as Souther, Junichi Suwabe as Shū & Toki, Kousuke Toriumi Rei, Katsuyuki Konishi as Kenshiro, Yuko Minaguchi as Yuria, Daiki Yamashita as Bat, Takashi Matsuyama as Raoh and Kisho Taniyama as Yuda.

Plot concept: The gag manga centers on a fun version of the Holy Emperor Souther as he tries to find ways to become friends with Kenshirō, demonstrates his party techniques, and sometimes plays with the Gosha Sei.
