My Wife Is The Student Council President Episode 9Misumi’s got a new secret passion.

What They Say:
The story begins with Izumi Hayato running to be student body president. But when a beautiful girl swings in promising the liberalization of love while flinging condoms into the audience, he ends up losing to her and becoming the vice president. At the student council meeting, the newly-elected president invites herself over to Izumi’s house, where she promptly announces she is to become Izumi’s wife thanks to an agreement – facilitated by alcohol – made between their parents when they were only 3.

Misumi’s misunderstanding of what’s up with Izumi is certainly cute since she thinks he’s crossdressing. Her desire to help out by buying him things he needs that he may be too embarrassed or unable to buy is certainly awkward and he feels like he’s being pranked by her. But what sells it is the kind of pervy and pleased look on Misumi’s face as she goes through this and likes being a part of this secret part of his life. Misumi’s getting involved in all of this is a problem though because it’s weakening her position as a disciplinary committee member since she’s doing things that she was fighting against very recently, which in turn makes its way back to the student council itself and puts Ui in a bind. It’s a fun little turnaround that works well to try and change the narrative a bit.

What’s interesting is that Ui ends up telling her friends on the council about it so they’re aware of the truth before more rumors spread. That’s a surprise to Izumi, and rightly so since he should have been told beforehand. There’s a nice kind of serious aspect to this that plays out between the two as they catch up, though it gets silly because of the panties Misumi bought for him being brought out. Ui’s not jealous per se, but she’s wanting to more firmly establish her hold on him in a sense and to be a part of his life. Since she’s misunderstanding from a different direction, her attempt at giving him panties goes in a very Ui direction where she wants him to take the ones she’s wearing off. While I understand his hesitation in a general sense, it’s also that kind of great sexy moment that plays out between two people in a relationship that we almost never see. I just wish it involved older characters, or at least ones that didn’t look this young.

In Summary:
While the show takes things further than reality would in a lot of ways, there’s a lot of fun in just having characters that actually acknowledge some form of sexuality that exists. And actually taking it further than the usual areas that we get. The end result are some pretty dirty sequences that fits with the characters involved here and leaves you grinning because the show actually goes there. I’m definitely enjoying the show overall and love what both Ui and Misumi bring to the table in advancing their own view of the relationship that exists, or is trying to come into existence, all while making it problematic for Izumi to simply exist in general. Silly and serious but with a great dose of a fanservice, this show is just a delight to watch.
