FUNimation’s going light on their Broadcast Dub initiative as part of the summer 2015 anime season but the first one of them is lined up to debut tonight with Prison School. FUNimation will be bringing it out at 8:30 pm tonight on their site and have now revealed the main cast and crew of the series that’s certainly one of the more out there shows of the season. And one that requires a certain kind of acting to make it click and work right, which the preview below certainly does.

The manga was recently licensed in North America by Yen Press. The series is being directed by Tsutomu Mizushima based on the scripts from Michiko Yokote and character designs by Junichiro Taniguchi, who is also serving as the chief animation director. The series is being animated by JC Staff.
Originally starting in 2011, Akira Hiramoto’s Kangoku Gakuen had announced with its fourteenth volume last August. The series is doing fairly well in Japan with over four million copies in print so far and the authors previous works, Ago Nashi Gen to Ore Monogatari and Yarisugi Companion to Atashi Monogatari have had adaptations in the last few years in the realm of mobile animation and live action film.
Plot concept: Hachimitsu Academy, a prestigious, historically all-girls school, has finally become co-ed. Average teen, Kiyoshi, is one of five boys to enroll. What he doesn’t know is that the school is clandestinely ruled by an Underground Student Council of ruthless, cruel, totally hot female students! And when the boys get caught peeping, they’re sent to the school’s prison, which is run by the brutally seductive warden, who also happens to be the VP of the Underground Student Council.
