The Maze Runner series brought out its first adaptation of the James Dashner novel last fall where on a $34 million budget it did $102 million domestically and $238 million internationally. The sequel was quickly green lit with Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials set for a September 18th, 2015 debut with probably a bit bigger of a budget as the scope of it expands. Ahead of a new trailer that’s set to land on July 23rd, they’re unveiling some of the character artwork posters with the first one arriving with Dylan O’Brien.

The third book, The Death Cure, has been given the go ahead with plans for it to release on February 17th, 2017. That’s a few extra months to work on it, presuming a bit more scale to it. What’s’ welcome is that the third and final book in the trilogy is not getting splint into two. The potential for a fourth film is there though since a prequel book is due for release next year with The Kill Order.
Plot concept: It’s the end of the line. WICKED has taken everything from Thomas: his life, his memories, and now his only friends—the Gladers. But it’s finally over. The trials are complete, after one final test. Will anyone survive? What WICKED doesn’t know is that Thomas remembers far more than they think. And it’s enough to prove that he can’t believe a word of what they say.
The truth will be terrifying. Thomas beat the Maze. He survived the Scorch. He’ll risk anything to save his friends. But the truth might be what ends it all. The time for lies is over.
