‘Code Geass: Akito the Exiled’ Gets Theatrical Debut TV Spot

Akito the Exiled Episode 4 BD CoverThe fourth episode of Code Geass: Akito the Exiled has made it into theaters in Japan this weekend as part of its limited engagement and now Bandai Visual is showing off a bit more of it with a new TV spot. Fans can also check out a good chunk of it through the recent preview of the first eight minutes of it online, which is a familiar pattern for the distributor. Bandai Visual has set an October 28th, 2015 home video release date for the episode with the usual regular and limited edition Blu-ray releases, both of which will feature English subtitles. The third episode premiered on May 2nd, 2015 in theaters with a home video release to follow. The episode was originally going to get a March 2015 premiere, but was pushed back after the second episode got pushed back significantly previously.

The show has been picked up for release in North America by FUNimation and has been licensed in Australia by Madman. The original series was licensed in North America by Bandai Entertainment but has fallen out of print since the closure of the company. FUNimation picked up the rights to both properties back in the summer of 2013.

Plot concept: The story takes place in Europe in the year a.t.b. 2017. A Knightmare unit made of boys and girls from Area Eleven are thrown into a military operation with a 5% chance of survival. They must rescue an allied unit left behind on the European war front.
