2 min read

LuciferOne of Fox’s pickups for the fall 2015 season that’s set to debut on Monday’s at 9pm is Lucifer. With the upfronts ongoing this week, they’ve brought out a two minute inside look piece that talks with the cast and those that produce it, including Geoff Johns, as well as the three minute “trailer” for it that collects various scenes from the pilot.

The project has the creator and executive producer of Californication, Tom Kapinos, shepherding it with Warner Bros. TV and DC Entertainment, though a showrunner has yet to be finalized for the series. Len Wiseman directed the pilot. The series stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Rachael Harris, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Nicholas Gonzalez and Scarlett Estevez.

The title character in the DC Comics world is one that began in the Vertigo series Sandman, which is in line for a theatrical adaptation itself, and it also launched into a 75 issue series of its own back in 2000 through 2006, which was written by Mike Carey.

Plot concept: Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer (Tom Ellis) resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.
