1 min read

Young Black Jack Volume 1 CoverOsamu Tezuka’s Black Jack continues to live on as a new series started back in 2011 with Young Black Jack, written by Yoshiaki Tabata with artwork by Yuugo Okuma. That series serves as a prequel to the original and has eight volumes out as of this month in Japan. While the original work from Tezuka has seen numerous adaptations over the years, this series is now getting ready for an adaptation. No details on the form of it yet, but new Black Jack with a look at his younger and more formative years is definitely something that has a lot of potential while still adhering to what makes the character popular.

Plot concept: Based on the brilliant maverick doctor created by manga pioneer Osamu Tezuka. This prequel follows Black Jack when he was still a medical student in the 1960s.
