The Review
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
Masami and Shigyo hear directly from the president about her and Chiaya’s secret past.  They are space aliens who landed centuries ago and have been waiting for the super-super moon alignment so they can return to their home world! She needs Ma-chan and Shigyo to retrieve her daughter and get back the octopots and cores!  Have I mentioned this show is silly? This show is silly.

Ai has found herself in Okayama, caught by the family who owned the peach orchard that she was helping herself to in the last episode. Little miss freeloader seems to have met her match in a mother daughter team who want her to pay back what she ate with labor. There is some trouble with the local tax collectors too, but this part of the plot seems secondary to the trouble brewing elsewhere. This show has been fast paced during normal episodes, tackling two separate locations at once is taxing to my strained attention span. This is where having a simuldub actually helps me catch bits I missed. It’s far easier to follow this in my native language.

Nozomi can’t find the rest of her rolling girls anywhere. Chiaya is still missing (fished out of the ocean into a boat.) Yukina wandered off to have copies of her missing person poster made, and finds herself in the bad guy’s base because she’s amazingly good at getting lost.  Soon she’s a hostage along with Shigyo’s second in command and Momiyama, who was also caught while snooping. Nozomi is left trying to resolve the conflict between the pirates and the former yakuza, but finds her help extremely unwanted.

And Chiaya almost finds herself as dinner in Okayama. The reunion with Ai is a happy one, and Chiaya encourages Ai to make up with Nozomi. The daughter of the house, Momo, decides to join the local vigilante squad. Her mother isn’t very happy at the idea, of course. Momo issues a challenge to the tax collecting demon vigilante squad, which has been coming down hard on Okayama. However, the young Best might be out of her league.

Nozomi is all alone in Hiroshima, and feeling homesick. She’s starting to think that Ai was right and she can’t do anything as a Rest. As she begins to place a call home the masked tax collector asks her the way to the bamboo okonomiyaki shop. Maybe the two plots aren’t so disconnected after all.

In Summary:
These final episodes are tackling two towns at once.  Blink and you’ll find yourself quickly lost on the goings on. Divide and conquer Rolling Girls! However with Yukina and Momiyama captured by the enemy and time running short, Masami and Shigyo might have to put aside their differences and save Nozomi’s ragtag group from the pirates who threaten to keep Chiaya and her mother from every going home. No pressure, right?
