March 2015 is storming in like a lion with the number of new anime DVD and Blu-ray releases, which means fans have a whole lot to choose from. This week also sees releases from nearly every distributor in some form and that’s a big positive as well, especially since there’s really not much here in the way of re-releases. Viz Media comes sorta close with it by having the fifth season of Ranma 1/2 come out, but that’s its first time on Blu-ray. Beyond that, it’s just some hentai re-releases from Critical Mass Video.
FUNimation goes very big this week with Space Dandy as they have their shop exclusive, an Amazon exclusive and the regular edition and limited edition releases. They’ve also got the debut of Unbreakable Machine Doll, which is getting the standard and limited edition releases. Sentai Filmworks only has one release out but it’s the very fun Outbreak Company on both DVD and Blu-ray in bilingual form while NIS America has just Chronicles of the Going Home Club in a premium Blu-ray edition. Aniplex slides in the fifth and final installment of Gurren Lagann and Nozomi Entertainment is kicking off one of their bigger and more fun releases of the year with the first Yakitate!! Japan collection.
