Second Full ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ Trailer Arrives

2 min read

Captain America Iron Man UltronPremiering last night amid the national championship game, the second full trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron has arrived.

And once again I find myself surprisingly underwhelmed and not all the excited for it. I’ll be seeing it to be sure as I’m a fan of the characters and I know there’ll be a lot of good stuff to it as part of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe, but like the first trailer I just find it so heavy with its style and tone that it’s very hard to actually get excited about it because of that. I’ve long enjoyed the Ultron character and the reworkings of him over the year and am curious to see how both quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are handled, among other things, but this trailer is another piece that doesn’t get me excited for the film.

Directed by Joss Whedon, the is set to land on May 1st, 2015 and stars Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen and James Spader.

Plot concept: When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
