Warner Bros. is circling a lot of actors for a number of roles in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad film. A lot of the focus has been on Harley Quinn being involved and the female star power from there, but the film has a lot of great male roles to work with too. One of those, which we’ve seen in TV form via Arrow recently, is that of Deadshot. The character has a long established history and has spent a lot of time with the Suicide Squad, as well as some very good time in Secret Six. Now word is surfacing that Warner Bros. is looking at the growing in demand Jai Courtney. While the actor hasn’t had a lot of critical buzz for his roles, he generally turns in some very good performances, from his Spartacus work and supporting role in Divergent. He’s involved in the Terminator: Genisys film as Kyle Reese as well, which will get him out in front of more people as well.

With this news surfacing, there’s also a bit from Variety that’s suggesting that Tom Hardy is being courted for Rick Flagg, the founder of the group, and that Will Smith is being sought after for Captain Boomerang. Add in the potential of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, an appearance by Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and the hard to believe rumor of Jared Leto as The Joker and it could be one hell of a cast.

Announced for a 2016 released, Suicide Squad is being helmed by Fury director David Ayer. It has previously reported that Will Smith and Tom Hardy are being sought to star in the film along with Margot Robbie, all three of which are supposedly close to finalizing deals for the “Dirty Dozen with Villains” as Ayer called it.

Plot concept: A group of supervillains are brought together to tackle high-risk black ops missions for the government.
