After the teaser that we got back at the end of July, since you wanted to get something out there amid the summer movie season, Lionsgate has let loose with a new fuller trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part One. There’s definitely a good, dark tone being set for this film, which is what it needs considering the stakes and events that followed Catching Fire, and it looks to set up all the right pieces for a project that will make for a good Thanksgiving week release.
Directed by Francis Lawrence, the film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Julianne Moore, Natalie Dormer, Stef Dawson, Evan Ross, Lily Rabe, Patina Miller, Wes Chatham, Elden Henson, Robert Knepper. It debuts on November 21st, 2014.
Plot concept: In “Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2,” we follow heroine Katniss Everdeen’s journey as she leads the districts of Panem in a rebellion against the tyrannical and corrupt Capitol. As the war that will determine the fate of Panem escalates, Katniss must decipher for herself who she can trust and what needs to be done, with everything she cares for in the balance.
