Welcome back to Star Wars Thursday, a celebration of the wonderful and often wacky world of a galaxy far, far away.

Thanks to the Star Wars universe, I can always go back and watch the beginnings of the Rebellion. Young people trying to make their world a better place by throwing off the chains of an Evil Empire are par for the course. I’m getting excited to jump in on the ground floor of an entire series called Rebels, for goodness sake!

Here in America, we celebrate casting off our own yoke of oppression each Fourth of July. My apologies to any Brits reading this…. I do love you, you know? Just like the Mythbusters, we show our excitement by blowing things up. Sometimes we even synchronize our explosions to awesome music!

This lovely display is actually from the “Symphony in the Stars” at the 2014 Star Wars Weekends. There’s just something about John William’s scores that make me tear up and fill me with joy. I can’t be the only one, right?

How would some of the personalities of Star Wars handle the joy of fireworks?

Deviant Artist 7hot-feanorians imagines some of his favorite Clones in these scenes. I love how the distinct personalities come through in these illustrations!

I’m positive that I know how C-3PO would react. He’d be the nervous nelly hovering in the background, reminding everyone to read each direction and follow all the safety guidelines. I love this instructional video on fireworks safety, even though Threepio never makes an appearance.

Who would be the most traumatized by frightening memories during a fireworks display? My vote is for Leia, since she had to watch her entire planet explode. This Deviant Artist, fiddlinartist, believes that Lord Vader would be the skittish one.

If you celebrate Independence Day, be sure to enjoy your explosions safely. Until next week – may the Fourth (of July) be with you!
