Love Live! Season 2, Episode #06With the second season having done well this past spring on top of the already popular first season and all the ancillary aspects of selling the show, it’s absolutely no surprise that Love Live! School Idol Project is getting a movie adaptation. With the final episode having hit, news has landed about the program that a feature is in the works but no details are being provided yet. With the quality being solid in the TV show, it’s expected we’ll see a lot of those involved shifting to the movie itself with the cast being an obvious given. All of this also comes on the property’s fifth anniversary, which began in the August 2010 issue of Dengeki G’s Magazine, making it all the sweet for the little show that could about girls trying to save their school.

NIS America has acquired the rights to the TV series with the first season set for release this fall.

Series concept: Otonokizaka High School is planning to close within three years. However, nine female students come together with one thing in mind— to form a pop idol group to revive the school’s popularity and keep it from shutting down. ‘In order to protect our beloved school, there’s only one thing we can do…become pop stars!’

Their goal is simple: Become an overnight sensation and use their nationwide media exposure to promote their school and bring in a wave of new students to the ailing area. A simple but solid plan, they figure. Naturally, they’re nervous and wonder if this plan can really succeed, but for better or worse their new journey has begun…
