At the end of the first season of Buddy Complex, we got the “see you again” tag at the end of it which was followed up by news from the official site that there would be more of the show. That had folks excited at another season of the property, but the news has changed a bit. With a new update on the official site, it’s been revealed that the new material will be a two part special that will air this fall. The TV series is set to rerun this summer and will likely be followed up by the specials just after that which will bring the property to a conclusion. The animation team and cast are returning for the final two episodes.

The series was simulcast by FUNimation and Bandai Visual is bringing out the releases in Japan with English subtitles in order to appeal to the import market that they know exists.

Plot concept: Revolving around the friendship and coming-of-age of two boys. It begins with Aoba Watase, a boy who goes to high school in Tokyo and lives a carefree daily life. On the morning of his school’s opening ceremony after summer vacation, he goes to campus as usual, but he has a chance encounter with another boy. The other boy’s name is Jyunyou Dio Weinberg. Their encounter will soon alter the fate of the world.
