Based on past experience with the Marvel Studios features and their theatrical dates and home video dates, it’s no surprise that Disney has slated a September 9th, 2014 release date for Captain America: The winter Soldier. With pricing coming a bit later, the feature film will be available on Digital 3D, Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on August 19 and on Blu-ray, DVD and On Demand on September 9.
The 136 minute feature is getting a pretty standard set of extras to start things off with, but we expect the “And More…” section to get filled out as no announcement has been made as to what the One-Shot release will be. With the success of the One-Shot material, in breathing more life into SHIELD and Agent Coulson as well as being a launching point for the Agent Carter series, it was expected that they’d have one, but Marvel has confirmed that this release will have no One-Shot feature.

Plot concept: After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.
