July is continuing to shape up to be a very busy month for fans of what Aniplex USA puts out as the company has set a July 15th, 2014 release date for Anohana – The Flower We Saw That Day. The movie is a theatrical retelling of the TV series through a new lens that adds more to the story while still retaining the heart that made the TV series such a fan favorite. Aniplex is bringing the show out in three different editions so that fans can get what they’re looking for, both in terms of format and collector’s edition material. While we get the standard DVD and Blu-ray releases, the collector’s edition looks to replicate some of the solid things that came with the Japanese release.
Plot concept: In Anohana -The Flower We Saw That Day The Movie-, fans can once again join the members of the Super Peace Busters as they gather to remember their dear friend Menma one year after their emotional reunion. The story beautifully incorporates highlights from the TV series as well as demonstrating Jinta and the rest of the group slowly coming to terms with their past and looking toward their futures together. The film is sure to be a heartwarming experience for both fans that are new to Anohana and fans that have followed the TV series alike.
