We learned back in January that the manga series Akame ga KILL! was getting the nod to leap into anime form but little else was confirmed with it beyond that. The latest bit of news to arrive for the show is that the lead character of Akame will be played by Sora Amamiya, who is currently being seen in the very different show One Week Friends as Kaori. Based on the manga by Takahiro with artwork by Testuya Tashiro that began in 2010 and it’s released nine volumes so far. The property is getting a big push these days as there are a couple of game projects that are in the works along with a prequel series that kicked off recently. The series is being adapted by White Fox.
Plot concept: Tatsumi is a fighter who just got robbed by a pretty girl, but his luck seems to be looking up, as another pretty girl has taken him in. What he doesn’t know is that this girl is about to be visited by a family of assassins (including the girl who robbed him) and they might be the good guys, and be recruiting…
