‘Revolutionary Girl Utena: Adolescence of Utena’ Anime Feature Gets YouTube Debut

Fans of Revolutionary Girl Utena that have been following the series release on YouTube through the distribution agreement Nozomi Entertainment has with Manga Entertainment have a new piece to add to their watch list today. The company has added the 90 minute feature from 1999, Revolutionar Girl Utena: Adolescence of Utena to the service. The film was originally release din the US by Central Park Media and was picked up as a part of the overall package Nozomi Entertainment got for the series in the last couple of years. The feature was produced by JC Staff with Kunihiko Ikuhara directing the Yoji Enokido written script.

Plot concept: This thrilling feature-length movie based on Kunihiko Ikuhara’s (TV’S SAILOR MOON) fan favorite series is a fun re-telling of this popular fantasy high school soap opera. Utena Tenjou arrives at Ohtori Academy only to be swept up in a series of duels for the hand of her classmate. At the same time, Utena reunites with Touga Kiryuu, a friend from her childhood who seems to know the secrets behind the duels. Utena must discover those secrets for herself, before the power that rules Ohtori claims her and her friends.
