Add another new license to the pile for UK fans as Manga Entertainment UK has acquired the home video rights for The Devil is a Part-Timer!, aka Hatakaru Maou-sama. The series, which was simulcast in the US by FUNimation who also picked up the home video rights, will get a 2014 release on both DVD and Blu-ray for the UK audience. No details on pricing, time frame of what will be included yet, but it’s expected to be a bilingual release as well based on the Blu-ray inclusion. The show is based on the light novel series of the same name by Satoshi Wagahara. The light novel series is moving at a good clip in that form as there have been seven volumes since its first one back in February of 2011 and a couple of spinoff manga that kicked off in 2012. The anime series was done by White Fox and premiered in April 2013.

Plot concept: Foiled by a hero when he’s inches away from conquering the world, the devil finds himself in modern-day Tokyo. With no real-world skills to speak of, the devil is forced to make ends meet flipping burgers at a fast food joint! To stall any further plans of world domination, the hero tracks the devil’s trail and takes on the lowly tasks of a telemarketer.
