While Mark Millar seems to have disappeared a bit from the brain trust at Fox that’s supposed to handle the blending of X-Men and Fantastic Four, it won’t be a surprise if it’s because more of his own original works are getting moved into feature film adaptations. With The Secret Service in production, it’s now coming out that Fox is looking to acquire a new title from Mark Millar and Goran Parlov that’s due out in March 2014 from Image Comics with Starlight. The six issue series has obviously generated a bit of buzz whenever Millar does anything new, and he’s always out there to talk it up, but it’s being revealed that busy man Simon Kinberg will be handling the adaptation, having coming off of X-Men: Days of Future Past recently.

The property is described by Millar as Flash Gordon meets The Dark Knight Returns. It centers on a space hero who saved the universe 35 years ago but came back to Earth, where no one believed his fantastic stories. He settled down, got married, had kids and got old, but then is called back for one last adventure when his old rocket shows up.
