The awkward videos on the official site for Starblazers 2199 continue on as Shiori Kawana talks more about what’s going on with the release. The new promotional video covers a sprawling twenty-five minutes as she talks about all sorts of things against the backdrop of  the Cosmo Navy and a few figures and toys around her. The information has been distilled down to just a few points, some of which are a bit, well confusing.

  • It’s directly translated in English & Spanish.
  • The ship’s name is Yamato. Characters are the same. Title is Star Blazers 2199.
  • Is there a dub version? We’re now considering.
  • Available for purchase at StarBlazers.com, Kinokuniya book store (no online store), and more coming up later on.

With the first volume set for release in February, it’s not exactly completely out of bounds for it to be dubbed, but if it does it’s hard to imagine it either being done in a quality fashion or in enough time to actually be a part of the encoding and testing process without pushing back the release. But as has been said before, the more noise fans make for a dub, the more likely it will be to be made.

  1. Wait, so you can’t even order it from the Kinokuniya online store? That’s, wow, they’re shooting themselves in the foot here even more than I previously thought, how do they expect people to even at least hear about this release, I’m sure not even all the hardcore fans who’d want to buy it will hear of it.
