2 min read

PompeiiWe had a teaser back in August for Pompeii, which is due out on February 2014, but now we have the first full trailer for it that will start hitting the big screen soon in advance of other features. Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, it deals with events before the actual eruption and what happened to the people during it. There’s a pretty good cast to it overall and while it looks to play up the big action aspect of it in the trailer, it also has some signature Anderson moments as well. The film has a budget of $100 million for TriStar Pictures with distribution through FilmDistrict in the US and Canada.

Cast:

Kit Harington as Milo
Emily Browning as Cassia
Kiefer Sutherland
Jared Harris as Lucretius
Jessica Lucas as Ariadne
Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Bridgageous
Carrie-Anne Moss as Cassia’s mother

Plot concept: Set in 79 A.D., Pompeii tells the story of Milo (Kit Harington), a slave turned invincible gladiator who finds himself in a race against time to save his true love Cassia (Emily Browning), the beautiful daughter of a wealthy merchant who has been unwillingly betrothed to a corrupt Roman Senator. As Mount Vesuvius erupts, Milo must fight his way out of the arena in order to save his beloved as the once magnificent Pompeii crumbles around him.
