One of the bigger series of the earlier part of the last decade has found itself a new digital distribution home on Hulu as Saiyuki is now available there. As of this writing, the first forty-five episodes are available out of the fifty that exist, and it’s just a matter of time before the rest get added. The series is being distributed through The Anime Network on the service for Aesir Holdings, who released the series on DVD this past summer in one complete collection. The show is available for Hulu Plus members so they can watch the run of episodes on their app connected TV or through other digital mobile devices.
Plot concept: Once, demons and man lived together in harmony. But when a band of rogue demonic forces sought to resurrect a diabolical monster, dark spiritual energy began to cover the land – and the demons decided mankind was no longer friend, but food. Now, it’s up to a renegade priest, a monkey king, a lecherous water sprite, and a sympathetic demon to stop the resurrection and return harmony to the dangerous land.
