Miss Monochrome’s goal of being a super pop idol is one that keeps grabbing at all the wrong things when it comes to figuring out the path. Most of what she does are things that happen after you become an idol and certain aspects follow it, such as the figures and way the fans work. Now she’s wanting to have a magical girl wand of some sort in order to have the right prop, but her manager at least finds a way to make it work by giving her cleaning tools to use to practice. That makes for some practice moments, much as it does when we see her working in the fields later to enhance her ability to do hard, nature-driven work that can help give her more of what she needs in terms of personality and understanding.
In Summary:
There’s something to be said for hard work and Miss Monochrome pretty much does that throughout here, which is rather nice to see. She’s mostly floated throughout the show so far without doing too much in the way of her job, but this time around she does a bit more physical labor and finds some good things that come from it, even if it doesn’t actually help with her actual goal. The show does feel a bit listless still in terms of what it really wants to do but it’s still got some cute moments and is such a light commitment that it’s hard to give it too much grief.
