Ridley Scott continues to be a busy man and in some ways thrives on the controversy that he creates. After the Prometheus film landed last year where the R-rated science fiction film made $403 million theatrically, there’s been varying degrees of confirmation about progress on the sequel. We’ve had some of the actors talking about coming back and having talks with Scott, such as Noomi Rapace, and this summer we had the confirmation that JAck Paglen was coming in to write the sequel. Now, while out promoting his latest film The Counselor in between working on the biblical film Exodus, he was asked about the sequel and made it clear that it’s definitely happening in his book and work is proceeding apace:

“‘Promethus’ is being written right now. Number two.”

Scott has largely eschewed working on sequels in the past, but with some involvement on Blade Runner‘s sequel and talking about this film more than he usually has other potential sequences, it makes it clearer that he’s likely up for it.
