Star Wars Thursday: Nail Art Edition

2 min read

Star Wars ManicureWelcome back to Star Wars Thursday, a celebration of the wonderful and often wacky world of a galaxy far, far away.

I’m going to head into some seriously girly territory today. I’ve never had fingernails to speak of, since I often nibble my nails. Even when I keep from biting them, my klutzy nature means that I’m always trimming away damaged parts. Just a few weeks ago, I decided to try to grow them out. Amazingly enough, my nails even survived last weekend’s camping adventure!

In celebration of this momentous occasion, I dedicated this week’s theme to Star Wars nail art. I’d like to think that Leia would approve, and that she would take the time to make her own nails into masterpieces for a sufficiently important event.

Many Etsy crafters have created special polishes in honor of favorite Star Wars scenes, quotes, and characters.

GemCityTiffany has a pink and sparkly polish called “Love in Alderaan Places”. Perfect for a day at the beach, or a little trip through the sands of Tatooine with the one you love.

The next offering is based on a quote I, personally, use on a regular basis. Admit it, you wave your hands in the air and try to convince the weak-minded to see things your way, too. Lokislacquer has you covered, with “These are not the droids you’re looking for”.

Perhaps you would like a slightly darker look? This next polish is named “The Force”, and I could easily see Lord Vader sneaking a little of it onto his own nails in the privacy of his chambers. This dark and glittery treat comes to us from the Etsy shop MckfreshNailAttire.

If you’d just like to add a little accent to your own polish, try some transfer decals! This set is from SuperSexyNailArt on Etsy.

I know I’m not the only person out there who would love to get some super geeky nail art. While I was poking around the web today, I even found an entire post dedicated to hosting a Star Wars nail art party! The R2 manicure at the top of the page is also from this post.

Have any of you done any nail masterpieces? I don’t have a steady Jedi hand, so I’ll just have to leave it to the Masters.

Until next week – may the Force be with you!
