Pony Canyon is gearing up for another of the fall seasons that they have home video distribution rights for with Gingitsune. The new fall series, which is slated to run twelve episodes, will begin its separate DVD and Blu-ray releases on December 25th. The six Blu-ray releases are priced at 7140yen each while the DVD releases are priced at 5250yen each. The first press editions at the moment are mostly related to a ticket to an event, but it does appear that there’s a mini wooden plque included and a drama CD as well as some calendar cards for Januayr and February 2014, which will be expanded as each volume comes out with new months.
Plot concept: Gingitsune: Messenger Fox of the Gods follows the everyday life of Makoto Saeki, who is the 15th successor to her family’s shrine. As a result, Makoto is able to see Gintaro, a messenger of the gods who is the spirit of a sacred silver fox and has lived at the shrine for over 350 years. As a messenger of the gods, Gintaro has the ability to see into the future, and uses it to help Makoto only when she is truly in need. This is the story of friendship between a delicate teenager and a shy and stubborn messenger of the gods.
