Kodansha Comics Showcases ‘Vinland Saga’ Hardcover Manga Release

Kodansha Comics is gearing up for their first hardcover release that’s due out on October 8th with Makoto Yukimura’s Vinland Saga.  Yukimura should be a familiar name to both manga and anime fans as his first serialized work was the title Planetes, which garnered a lot of critical acclaim. This new work, which began in 2005, has twelve voumes released so far in Japan. Kodansha Comics is doing the omnibus route for the first two planned hardcover editions where each volume will have two volumes of the manga and will include color pages as well.

Kodansha Comics is offering it in the Kindle Format as well as the physical hardcover format.

Plot concept: As a child, Thorfinn sat at the feet of the great Leif Ericson and thrilled to wild tales of a land far to the west. But his youthful fantasies were shattered by a mercenary raid. Raised by the Vikings who murdered his family, Thorfinn became a terrifying warrior, forever seeking to kill the band’s leader, Askeladd, and avenge his father. Sustaining Throfinn through his ordeal are his pride in his family and his dreams of a fertile westward land, a land without war or slavery…the land Leif called Vinland.
