Part of the larger b-roll of material from Disney’s D23 event this past weekend, we get to see Kevin Feige talking up the Guardians of the Galaxy film and the cast and creative team that’s been assembled for it. The dialogue is fairly familiar for those that have followed production for this film and what it’s trying to do, but it’s again good to see Feige laying the groundwork that they want to step out from the big names and see if they can launch something really different and interesting. This weekend also saw a tease, one we’re thinking is a bit of a fake out, in which Vin Diesel started posting up a Groot image on his Facebook page, which is timed with Deadline talking about it as well. It may well be true and we wouldn’t be surprised considering the cast involved so far, but we’re hoping for something else.
