Kadokawa Shoten is doing a bit of promotional work for the upcoming release of Sakasama no Patema by bringing out the original creator’s previous work for a priced down edition just before it. Directed by Yasuhiro Yoshiura, Time of Eve in movie form will get a limited time priced down release from October 25th through April 30th where it will come with four postcards in the set, two for Time of Eve and one for Sakasama no Patema. Th erelease is scheduled for October 25th at 3990 yen, and the initial listings are kind of surprising in that it doesn’t list English subtitles as other versions of the film/series have had them.

The disc itself will be the same encoding as before and it looks to have much the same extras with multiple interviews with the cast and staff, trailers, character introductions and commentary track.

Plot Concept: Two high school boys grapple with their own humanity in a world where people are serviced by androids distinguished from their masters only by the halo-like rings above their heads. Public mores, enforced by the shadowy Robot Ethics Committee, dictate that androids be treated like appliances, and those who empathize with their robots are branded as “android-holics.” Rikuo and his childhood pal Masaki find their assumptions about androids radically challenged when they come across Time of Eve, a cafe where androids and people are treated as equals. Liberated from the strictures of the Ethics Committee, Masaki and Rikuo must confront old wounds of betrayal and grief, and are faced with decisions that put their friendship and families on the line.
