Everything old is new again and now it looks like it might be time for Kia Asamiya to come back into the spotlight. Originally created back in 1989 and running for twelve volumes through 1999, Kia Asamiya’s Silent Mobius spawned two theatrical films that were all the buzz back in the day before there were any domestic anime companies for the most part as well as the creation of a twenty-six episode TV adaptation which was released by Bandai Entertainment in North America. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the start of the original work and ASamiya is launching a new series, Silent Mobius QD Paranormal Police in the August 12th issue of Monthly Young Magazine. This series is a sequel series, though it’s not clear just how far past the original work it will take place in and if any of the existing characters will appear in it.
Original series concept: In the 21st century, just when the human race needs new heroes, the Lucifer Hawks enter Earth’s dimension. The members of the A.M.P., six young women with incredible powers, are set to defend the human rece against these monstrous entities from another world.

QD is set seventeen years after the original series. Asamiya made mention of this on his blog and Twitter. http://minkara.carview.co.jp/en/userid/518151/blog/30536500/
Thanks; I only have machine translation for it so I wasn’t sure it could be trusted that it translated it right and I hadn’t seen any separate confirmations on other news sites about it yet.
