‘Prometheus’ Sequel Eyeing 2014/2015 Release

1 min read

Talk about a sequel for Prometheus began before the film was out, which isn’t a surprise, and now word is coming down that Fox is looking at a 2014 or 2015 release time frame for it as they start getting some of the gears into motion. With the film landing earlier this year, it brought in $302 million worldwide based on a $125 million budget and an R rating, which makes the numbers more impressive than they might seem otherwise. With a lot of hype and attention on it due to its connection to the Alien franchise, expectations were high and there were definitely some misses to it.

According to the blurb in The Hollywood Insider, both Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace are signed on for any sequel. Less than clear is whether scribe Damon Lindelof will return. During a lot of the press for this film, he indicated he felt it should be handled by someone else to grow it in a different way. At the time, he was just starting his return to the world of TV writing and production as well.
