‘Daredevil’ Director Drops Out

1 min read

The hunt is on once again for a director for the planned Fox film reboot of Daredevil. David Slade had been previously set to take on the duties for it but had said little about the project overall in the last several months and has now dropped out of it due to a scheduling conflict as he’s directing the pilot for the TV series of Hannibal. Fox isn’t looking to make any changes of note to the script, having one that they like that’s based on the Born Again storyline, and they’ll be adding a director quickly as it needs to be in production this fall. The title is close to reverting to Marvel Studios and Disney unless a new feature is produced and Fox intends to ride the popular wave with another outing. The 2003 outing of the film, directed by Mark Steven Johnson, was made for $78 million and brought in $179 million, though it was not well received overall with a Rotten Tomates aggregate of just 45%.
