Due out on June 21st, 2013, Disney/Pixar has released the first teaser trailer for Monsters University, the sequel to the 2001 feature Monsters, Inc, which brought in $527 million on its $115 budget. It’s kind of all the more impressive when you consider that it was just over a month since 9/11 happened and a lot of people were pretty shell shocked at the time and dropping out of life in many ways. The new feature is bringing back the main cast with John Goodman, Billy Crystal and Steve Buscemi while adding in Dave Foley and Julia Sweeney. While the first movie was directed by Steve Docter, this one has Dan Scanlon stepping in to direct, which is his first directing gig. He’s previously worked on a lot of Disney animation and was a story artist for Cars and Toy Story 3.
Plot Concept: A look at the relationship between Mike and Sulley during their days at the University of Fear — when they weren’t necessarily the best of friends.
