Questioning Fandom: Your Most Treasured Toy

2 min read

Over the weekend we were doing some office cleaning around here and ended up going through a lot of stuff we hadn’t pulled out in ages, simply because they were well stored. You can see that video here. The whole process got us to thinking though about the things we value from our fandoms, be it comics, anime or movies, and how we collect various items based on it. Sometimes it’s a valued box set (I treasure the last THX edition Star Wars Laserdisc trilogy box set that was put out before they made the special editions) and other times it could be a signed book, poster or comic from someone. In going through what we had, I found a lot of items that went back to my pre-teen years that still make me smile all these years later, such as the Star Wars portfolios from McQuarrie to more recent things like particular hats, books and prints that I’ve acquired.

So what we want to know today, what is it that you have that means a lot to you after all these years? Items that bring up the nostalgia? A toy as a child that adorns your desk or wall now?
