‘Game Of Thrones’ Gets Third Season Green Light

2 min read

In a case of “well, duh”, HBO has made the third season renewal of A Game Of Thrones official. The start of the second season outclassed the opening of the first season by 75% and 25% over the ending of the first season, which to HBO hopefully shows an uptick in new subscribers that jumped on after getting seriously hooked on the home video release. The second season is expected to encompass the main pieces of the second book in the series A Song of Fire and Ice. No details have been announced in regards to what the episode count of the third season will be, which is expected to be more complicated than the first two seasons because of the book length itself and the ground it covers. There are suspicions that a third and fourth seasons would deal with the third book itself, and then things get even more complicated from there as the books beyond that work different parts of the timeline.

“Series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss raised our expectations for the second season – and then surpassed them,” said HBO’s programming president Michael Lombardo

Suffice to say, the series is a definite winner for HBO And continues to break records for them.
