NIS America Acquires ‘AnoHana’ Anime License

2 min read

The folks at NIS America have let loose with a new section on their site that has gone live that reveals that the company has picked up a new anime license with anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day coming out this year in a Complete Series Premium Edition. The set is planned for a July 3rd release with the DVD/BD combo set with each format getting two discs to handle the 11 episode series. It does not at this time say that the English subtitles will be locked, something NIS America has promised to note up front with releases. The title will come complete with a collectible slipcase, a hardcover art book, “The Super Peace Buster Chronicle,” and plenty of on-disc bonus features.

The series will retail for $69.99 and in addition to the hardcover book, the on-disc extras will include Episode 1 clean ending, teasers & commercials, and online episode previews. The release will be available at select online retailers: Right Stuf, The Anime Corner Store, Anime Pavilion, Anime Castle, and NIS America Online Store.

Plot Concept: Jinta Yadomi and his group of childhood friends have become estranged after a tragic accident split them apart. Now in their high school years, a sudden surprise forces each of them to confront their guilt over what happened that day and come to terms with the ghosts of their past. With their childhood friend Menma back in their lives, the “Super Peace Busters” put their personal issues aside and work together to grant her one true wish. But to do it right, they’ll have to overcome years of shame, hard feelings, and heartache.
