After a lot of time from when The Last Airbender went off the air, fans of the series now know exactly when the new series, The Legend of Korra, will grace the air. At the upfront presentation from Nickelodeon this week, in which they have some 650 hours of new programming across many, many shows that they have slotted for this year, it was announced that the new series will debut on Saturday, April 14th at 11am and will be part of a the Saturday morning block that runs from 8am to noon. The block is the highest rated for the 2-12 age group since 2000 and according to the states, garners some three million viewers each week. This is why you do see competition from other places like Cartoon Network trying to wedge in there and draw from that audience.
Plot Concept: The series centers around a new Avatar named Korra, a 17-year-old headstrong and rebellious girl who continually challenges and bucks tradition on her quest to become a fully realized Avatar in a world where benders are under attack.
