‘Enders’ Game’ Adds Abigal Breslin, Harrison Ford

2 min read

The casting fun continues with Ender’s Game and while I haven’t exactly been disappointed, I can’t say I’m thrilled to see Harrison Ford show up in this feature. With his “phone it in” performances recently and a lack of real enthusiasm for any roles he’s taken on, taking on the role of Colonel Graff is one that may or may not work depending on how much he puts into it. Alongside this bit of casting news, it appears that Abigail Breslin is also joining the cast in the role of Valentine, the elder sister of the lead character played by Asa Butterfield whose casting has really gotten the whole ball rolling.

Additionally, Aramis Knight (Rendition), Moises Arias (Hannah Montana), Jimmy Pinchak (Let Me In), Suraj Parthasarathy, Conor Carroll (Away We Go), and Khylin Rhambo have signed on.

Knight is taking on the role of Bean while Arias joins as Bonzo. Pinchak has signed on as the role of Peter, Ender’s older brother, while Carroll is taking the role of Bernard. Rhambo signs on as Dink. Once we start seeing more formal marketing cards with things, likely assigning them to the platoons they belong with, things will start coming together better visually.

Plot Concept: In order to develop a secure defense against a hostile alien race’s next attack, government agencies breed child geniuses and train them as soldiers. A brilliant young boy, Andrew “Ender” Wiggin lives with his kind but distant parents, his sadistic brother Peter, and the person he loves more than anyone else, his sister Valentine. Peter and Valentine were candidates for the soldier-training program but didn’t make the cut–young Ender is the Wiggin drafted to the orbiting Battle School for rigorous military training.
