‘Mortal Kombat: Legacy’ Gets DVD, BD Release

2 min read

Warner Bros. has sent out some early release information to retailers that indicates that the web original series Mortal Kombat: Legacy will arrive on November 8th for both DVD and Blu-ray, with the Blu-ray release retailing at $19.98. The series has done well with its nine episode run on YouTube where it garnered some twelve million hits and increased attention to it as it progressed by getting into the more game-driven aspects of powers and backgrounds. The series was seen as an attempt to prove that a new feature could be made and that there should be an audience, since the last film came out all the way back in 1997.

On both releases, the extras will include Mortal Kombat Legacy: Fights – A look at the role Fatalities and hyper-violence play in the Mortal Kombat storytelling process. Included within the piece is a detailed exploration of the fights and stunts staged during the production of the web-series and Mortal Kombat Legacy: Fan Made – Go inside the mind of Mortal Kombat super fan Kevin Tancharoen and uncover his passion and vision that brought Mortal Kombat: Legacy to life. The Blu-ray release gets some exclusives with Mortal Kombat Legacy: Expanding The Netherrealm — Multi-chapter documentary brings the Mortal Kombat universe to life; Mortal Kombat: Mysticism – Discover the powers that define the characters; Mortal Kombat: Gear – Explore all the weapons that make Mortal Kombat fighting unique.
